Message from the president

Dear Members of the Ventura County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association,

I am both humbled and honored to serve as your President. As I step into this role, I am committed to upholding the values of integrity, transparency, and collaboration that are the foundations of our organization. Over the past five years we have seen tremendous growth within the VCDSA, and I am excited to continue to develop our organization in a way which furthers that growth and benefits all the membership.

One of my top priorities is ensuring that every member’s voice is heard. Your concerns, ideas, and perspectives are invaluable as we work together to strengthen the VCDSA. I encourage open communication and will ensure there are opportunities for all members to share feedback regularly.

Transparency is key to maintaining the trust of our membership. I pledge to keep you informed about decisions, negotiations, and developments that impact us all. The Board of Directors and I deeply appreciate the dedication and sacrifices you make every day, and we are committed to advocating on your behalf.

I am also dedicated to representing law enforcement labor interests at every level – local, state, and federal. Legislation and policies crafted at these levels have a direct impact on our profession, our safety, and our ability to serve effectively. I will work hard to ensure that you are updated on these critical conversations, and I will advocate for laws and policies that protect and support law enforcement professionals.

Moving forward, I aim to foster stronger partnerships—both within our association’s membership and with the broader community. By working together, we can address challenges effectively and create meaningful solutions that support the well-being and success of our membership.

Thank you for your hard work, professionalism, and dedication to serving our community. I am excited to lead this organization and to collaborate with you as we build on the successes of the past and strive for an even brighter future.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns, or ideas. Together, we can make a difference.

In solidarity,

Justin Doering, President
Ventura County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association
