Each May, National Police Week provides an important opportunity to pause and reflect on the courage, service, and sacrifice of law enforcement officers who have given their lives in the line of duty. For the Ventura County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association, this week is a solemn time to honor the fallen and reaffirm our commitment to remembering their legacy.
Police Week exists to ensure that those who made the ultimate sacrifice are never forgotten. Behind every name etched into memorials is a dedicated public servant, as well as family members, friends, and colleagues whose lives were forever changed. Honoring the fallen acknowledges not only their courage, but also the profound cost of service borne by their loved ones and fellow deputies.
As we observe Police Week 2026, we stand in solidarity with surviving families, coworkers, and law enforcement agencies across the nation. We honor the fallen by remembering their sacrifice, supporting those left behind, and continuing to serve our communities with the same integrity, commitment, and dedication they exemplified.
Their service will always be remembered, and their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
