A group of Ventura County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association (VCDSA) Board Members, along with the Executive Director, recently attended the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC) Symposium, continuing our commitment to professional development and strong advocacy on behalf of our members.
The PORAC Symposium provided high‑quality training and timely education on critical issues impacting law enforcement professionals and labor organizations across the state. Topics covered included officer wellness, legislative updates such as SB 2, bias in policing, peer support programs, real‑world case studies, and other emerging issues affecting our profession.
Participation in this training ensures that VCDSA leadership remains informed, prepared, and engaged with statewide best practices and policy developments. These educational opportunities enhance our ability to support, represent, and advocate effectively for our membership while navigating an evolving professional and legislative landscape.
VCDSA remains committed to investing in training and education that directly benefits our members. Attending conferences such as the PORAC Symposium allows our leadership team to bring back valuable insight, perspective, and resources that strengthen the association and the services we provide.
We appreciate the ongoing support of our members, which allows VCDSA to continue prioritizing education, wellness, and effective representation.
